Siva Kugathas, owner of ServiceMaster Clean AAA, wins big in the UK Business Awards 2024 for leader and entrepreneurship for the second year running.
European Franchisee of the Year Siva Kugathas from ServiceMaster Clean AAA has been recognised for the second year in a row at the UK Business Awards.

The UK Business Awards were founded to champion enterprise and leadership excellence by recognising exceptional business initiatives.
After winning last year, Siva has once again taken home the Leader of the Year (SILVER) Award as well as Entrepreneur of the Year (GOLD).
Leader of the Year:
This category recognises someone in a leadership position who’s inspired, guided and reassured staff.
With over 925 staff across 19 territories, Siva is dedicated to ensuring his team is at the forefront of his operation, as having the right people in the right places directly impacts the service we deliver to our clients due to our regular on-site audits that allow us to maintain the best possible service to suit your needs.
This, and the exceptional care Siva shows to his staff through 360º feedback sessions and comprehensive mentorship schemes, is a huge contributing factor to his Net Promotor Score of 80+ (more than double the industry average).
Over half of Siva’s sixteen area manager positions were promoted from cleaners – evidencing the success of his ability to mentor and support staff from an entry-level role to a role with more responsibility.
This is all highly unusual in the cleaning industry, not only because, often, cleaners do not progress within a company – usually due to the lack of internal structure to support their growth – but they also tend not to stay in any one company for too long.
Siva has created a stable workplace environment where his staff are happy to come to work and stay with the business for a long time, as they know that they are valued and will be supported should they aspire to develop their skills.
Entrepreneur of the Year
This award is given to a winner who has steered their business to success with innovative ideas, intelligent management techniques and dedication to being the best – which is Siva to a tee!
Siva arrived in the UK at 18 from war-torn Sri Lanka and worked from the minute he arrived on British shores. A single father, he was determined to make a name and a better life for himself and his family. He joined ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services in 2017 from a background in franchise business management and has grown a single unit in Guildford with 17 staff to a 19-territory empire.
