Expanding the fleet

The need for a new van arose as the team sought to expand its existing vehicle portfolio to accommodate a new technician, who would work from it as they increased their capacity in the Peterborough area. Knowing they wanted to continue their commitment to sustainable practices, the team, led by General Manager Lee Redfern, decided to introduce an electric van.
Lee says this decision was influenced by the business’s own ethical standpoint of creating a more sustainable operation:
“These days, climate change is constantly in the spotlight, and I believe it’s massively important to address. We’ve changed the way we operate—how we recycle chemicals, the equipment and products we use, and how we manage waste. We always recycle the plastic bottles, and at our office, we refill our tanks with recycled water, which we then purify using our own system for window cleaning.”
Evolving Sustainability
Therefore, Lee sees an electric van as another step in their ongoing commitment to sustainability, as the business looks to expand with further electric vehicles in the future and work towards a carbon-neutral accreditation.
“A green vehicle, I think it’s massive and is going to get bigger and bigger.”
