ServiceMaster Clean Newbury becomes Employee Ownership Trust (EOT)

ServiceMaster Clean Newbury

ServiceMaster Clean Deeland was established 30 years ago by Nick Dee Shapland and started as a one man and his van business, now 30 years later the thriving business employees over 350 people.

As Nick looks forward to his retirement, ServiceMaster Clean Deeland stays safely in the hands of the loyal and experienced employees as the business becomes an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).

An EOT is when employees acquire a controlling interest in a company from it’s current shareholders. In ServiceMaster Clean Deeland case, 80% of the company shares are held in trust on behalf of the employees and structurally ensures that their staff can contribute to ideas within the company and benefit from a shareholder distribution scheme. Not only does this result in greater longevity and expertise amongst the team, but it also ensures that the staff are actively invested in the success and growth of the business and go ‘above and beyond’ in providing excellent customer service and driving growth.

You can read more about the story in Newbury Today and in Newbury Business Today.

Nick has been a major part of ServiceMaster Clean over the last 30 year and will be missed by his employees, ServiceMaster limited and many of the other franchisees across the network.

We wish wish nick a very happy retirement.
