Charity sale to raise funds for a local charity GAIN

ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Jemsl (West London, North Surrey & Hertfordshire) are keen to give back to their local community and support locally based charities.

Most recently the team held a sale to raise funds for a local charity GAIN (Grantham’s Autism Information Network).

Gain is a charity employee Jackie supports and volunteers for on a regular basis and this event saw the wider team contribute and helped raise £160 from colleagues and over £670 from sales so far for the charity.

GAIN offer a local support group for families with children on the autism spectrum, including arranging social events with local businesses, autism friendly cinema viewings, sporting activities, holiday clubs, coffee mornings and a helpline.

And…. She DID IT

A huge well done to Joanne Taplin-Knight, Office Manager for ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services London City.

On Saturday 19th June, despite a long wait for the weather to clear, Joanne finally got to jump out of a plane

“I have to say that it was the most terrifying thing I have ever done but an amazing experience and I’m so glad I had the courage to do it!”

All in all, I have raised a staggering £3,500 for Ronald McDonald House Charities, they think I am the highest single jumper fundraiser which is totally overwhelming and I have you all to thank for helping me to achieve this.

I am grateful beyond words for your kind donations and know that it will help the charity tremendously, thank you so much for having faith in me.” Said Joanne.

“Above & Beyond” rather than “to infinity and beyond” for Joanne from ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services London City

Joanne Taplin-Knight, Office Manager for ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services London City is daring to go “Above & Beyond” for charity.

On 19th June, Joanne will be going ‘above’ the skyline and ‘beyond’ her comfort zone, by taking part in a skydive to help raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Ronald McDonald House Charities provide free ‘home away from home’ accommodation at specialist children’s hospitals across the UK, enabling families to stay close to their sick child and maintain a degree of normal family life.

This charity is particular close to Joanne’s heart. A close friend of hers suddenly found herself in a position where the support of the charity was much needed. Her son had fallen 30ft from an abandoned building, suffering a serious brain injury and ending up in a coma for weeks.

Joanne has already smashed her first target of £800, just surpassed her second target of £1200 and is now aiming even higher to support this worthwhile cause.
